On October 1, 2024, the Association for Opera in Canada is organizing its annual roundtable for Québec at the Opéra de Montréal. This one-day event brings together artists, educational institutions, opera companies, and businesses to discuss the current state of the operatic genre in Canada and Québec.
Ana Sokolović is participating in the panel "Opera and Technology," moderated by Catherine St. Arnaud, alongside Stéphane Tétreault, to present the applications of digital technology to opera, the challenges associated with it, and the creative paths it opens. While musician and producer Stéphane Tétreault demonstrates the positive uses that the opera audience can have with cell phones in an educational context, the Canada Research Chair in Opera Creation highlights her Chair’s mission of democratization, which involves a thoughtful use of technology.
